Gong Yoo, Kim Yo Han, And Kim Dong Jun Extend Support To Aid Those Affected By Ongoing Flooding In Korea
More celebrities have donated to aid those affected by Korea's ongoing flooding due to torrential rains.
Korea's rainy season is at the beginning of June. Heavy showers have been submerging the country in record amounts, and thousands of people needed to evacuate as mudslides were triggered.
Korea saw at least six deaths and eight missing people because of the monsoon rains in the central part and the uncontrollable floods in the southern regions' residential areas.
According to the Korea Disaster Relief Association, Kim Jin Woo of WINNER raised to assist the water damage restoration. It was said and reported last August 13 that he also donated the amount of 10 million won to the same foundation.
Actor Gong Yoo also reported by a media outlet OSEN last August 14 to have also donated 100 million won (approximately $84,243) to the Korea Disaster Relief Association. The foundation told OSEN that they received a donation a little after 11 AM on August 12, under Gong Yoo's real name (Gong Ji Cheol).
Kim Dong Jun also donated to MIRAL Welfare Foundation the amount of 10 million won to help out the flooding victims. The foundation shared that on August 12, they received a large amount of donation under the name of Kim Dong Jun, and later, they found out that it was the celebrity Kim Dong Jun who donated. He did not want his contribution to be in public, but after, to spread the sharing culture, he allowed this article to be published.
According to the Korea Disaster Relief Association, Kim Yo Han also donated 10 million won (approximately $8,424) to help the flooding victims.
Actress Han Ji Hye also donated to the Korea Disaster Relief Association, amounting to 20 million won (approximately $16,849). She said that she wanted to help the victims of flooding in some ways and to hope that those suffering from the tragedy could feel warmth and comfort.
